  10. Prepare as required Water
  11. Get 1 tbsp oil
  12. Prepare as per taste Salt

Heat oil and add the sliced jackfruit seeds. Keeping fire on medium-low, stir-fry them until the seeds start to sweat a bit. Add the turmeric powder and salt. When the water has evaporated and the seeds are cooked, remove from the heat and set aside.

Instructions to make Khed (Stir-Fried Jackfruit seeds):
  1. Remove the brown skin of jackfruit seeds & chop in medium size pieces.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Add 1 tsp mustard seeds & let them crackle. Add 1/2 tsp asafoetida, chopped jackfruit seeds, 1/2 cup water and mix. Cover & let the water reduce completely.
  3. Open the cover & add 1 tsp sugar, salt as per taste, 1 small kokum, 1 cup chopped onion, 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves, 2 tbsp freshly grated coconut, 1 tsp red chilli powder and saute well. Remove from flame & serve hot with roti/chapati.

Add the turmeric powder and salt. When the water has evaporated and the seeds are cooked, remove from the heat and set aside. When cooled you can store it in the fridge and stir fry it when required.
