It is somewhere in between two recipes. Custard bun is very popular in Taiwan, you can find it in every bakery. It's usually a round bun with a custard swirl on top of the bun as a decoration. After I came to the US, I was looking for custard buns but couldn't find it in any local grocery store.

Instructions to make Custard buns:
  1. Mixed all the dough ingredients. Knead until become smooth dough texture. Put a side, cover up with kitchen cloth, let it rise, will take around 40min.
  2. Mixed all the filling ingredients in a big bowl (accept the blended corn & icing sugar). Stir well until all combine. Put in microwave for 1.5min on 750w. Take it out and add in icing sugar and blended corn. Stir it until texture combine and smooth.
  3. After 40min. Take out the dough. Knead again and cut it into small dough around 65gm each. Roll then into round shape, preparing to make the buns.
  4. Each small dough filling with the custard corn. Make it into round shape. After all the dough is done. Brush the egg ontop the buns and sprinkle the sesame seeds on. Let it rest for 25min before bake.
  5. Bake in 180° for 20min then is ready.
